C64 Name hijacking
I didn't notice that before but Epson has a printer named C64… I consider that absolutely unacceptable!
What's going to happen to all the memories that the C64 name evokes? I mean you go to a shop and ask for a printer, then the guy shows you a "C64". You'll be deeply confused…
This is bad, absolutely bad news. It means respect for the demoscene roots has completely been lost. Demoscene is dead.
PD: I found that by looking for C64 at ebay, out of curiosity…

It strikes me as unbelievable that something such as the demoscene is dying. In fact now we are living a true golden age of hardware with endless possibilities and affordable prices. The just announced four SLI nvidia cards, the soon to be released physics accelerators, etc. It seems to me that very young people is not interested in this anymore… Too much work?

you know what's the problem? since when you start learning the basics until you get something decent which is not called "FUCKING NEHE CRAP" by the other "veterans", you can spend like five years.
Compare it with old DOS demos… where you could start doing something by learning a bit of memory writing and system interrupts…
I have that very sensation, each time I try to do something… i feel like "ok, but nobody will care of this… it doesn't have lighting or textures"… i don't know, sometimes the 3d cards are very discouraging :'(
