I've used DVD Studio Pro since version 2 and have had really good luck with it. One key, though, is making sure your Software Update is, well, up to date. When I install it on a new system, it seems I usually have to update twice before things start working right. Also, it's happy to take m2v and ac3 files, if you prefer to compress them outside of DVDSP (that's what Compressor is for).

Anyway, interesting article, thanks for putting it together!

Ante todo, muchas felicitaciones por vuestro curro

We have just finished our DVD about Motion Graphics in Spain and we used DVD Studio Pro, and yes, it's not a smooth and eassy tool, lost of litle scripts and took quite a long time processing the stuff but it worked.
Now we have to produce another pack of DVDs and we will really take a look at all that you say in this long and excelent post.
Cheers

Now that was a long read! I only used iDVD once and it was enough to solve my problem. And you can drag in pictures from any Finder window, not need to rely on the iPhoto library.

You might want to try Fraps to capture those troublesome demos/intros. You shouldn't have any problem recording full-screen footage at 1024@30FPS, provided you have a "fast" CPU or a dual-core one.

Downloading the Escena.org DVD now :)
