- Both you and ednapiranha are my role models...
- ... I am afraid that anything I do will be poop...
- ... and then I look at your repos and I see all those amazing projects there...
This person is creative, funny and knowledgeable.
Also afraid of failure.
This is so sad!
And how many more people are afraid too?
So much wasted potential.
This is not sad...
How can I help my friend?
How do we stop this tragedy?
Everyone wants to be a code hero
This is awfully unhealthy.
The truth about heroes
- They struggle with fear.
- They are not perfect.
- They are human.
- Like you.
So what’s the difference between you and a “hero”?
Hey Edison, how does it feel to fail 10,000 times?
I have not failed, not once. I’ve discovered ten thousand ways that don’t work.
We don’t compare with others
We are “luckier” than the rest
We are not afraid to give projects up
We don’t fear the unknown
We welcome errors
- Macabre pool: spooky turned creepy 1 2 3 final
We might intentionally look for errors
You are awesome.
And weak. And scared.
And it’s OK.
Always Be Learning.
Care for yourself.
Ask for help.
Help others.
We don’t need no code heroes
... and hugs for when we fail!
