It's not my fault!
At the beginning of working in London I used to go to a place near my office. Cheap food (and lots of), friendly people. Not bad, but I don't need chips everyday. So when I finally moved to my current flat I decided that it had been enough, and then it was time for me to prepare my own food. My work mates were like surprised: how? so you have brought your lunch from home?! - they kept on going to that cheap-food place but one day one of them told me: I think I won't eat there again! After that... my clothes stink!!!
Ok, so there was another reason for not going there. I hadn't thought of that before, mainly because I tend to be with a cold all year long, and those first months in London I was really affected by the weather. So my nose didn't work too well... to describe it somehow... ;)
I was quite happy with my self-prepared food. My sandwiches were light, I knew what I put there and how many hours did they spend prepared (not the same if you buy them from any fast-food shop: you never know since when are they there...). I tasted the different kinds of ham, cheese (lots of cheddar here, heh), with or without salad, olives, blah... Sometimes with some crisps and coke, sometimes not... depending on if it rained or not, I went outside the building for buying them (or not)...
One day my workmate exclaimed something like... Oh! as you have your sandwiches...! I have to go for something for lunch...
I told him: but you can also prepare sandwiches for you. And he answered that he didn't have time for doing that. I couldn't believe that I was hearing that. Not even 5 minutes in life for preparing a pair of sandwiches... unbelievable! But as it was not my business, I said yeah, yeah, ok... (also by those days I couldn't tell much more haha).
And I had almost forgotten that incident. But today I was having lunch on the lunch-area of the building and then one guy which works there too (and that I have spoken to some times) came with a can of apple tango, a crisps bag and a very big food box containing roasted meat with chips and salad. He looked at my fantastic self cooked spanish omelette, which looked really great and was the envy of all people eating there (I almost could listen them gossiping about it ;)). And he tells me: Oh, as you prepare your food each day, you don't have to spend five pounds like me each day!!. Gosh! Another one with the same old-story. I answered the standard reply: you can do it as well! - and I got the same standard reply-to-the-reply: but I don't have time for doing that.
Pffffffffff ridiculous lazy people... 5 minutes will save you 5 pounds!! :P And is also better for your health. Well, the main point here is: it's not my fault that you aren't able to prepare a simple sandwich with ham and cheese and try to hide it by saying you don't have time for doing that. It's absolutely ridiculous!
Why are them so lazy? Sigh...
